Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the international honor society of two-year colleges. It is the largest honor society in American higher education with over two million members and more than 1,200 chapters in all 50 states and abroad. PTK recognizes and encourages scholarship while promoting leadership, service and fellowship.

Alpha Theta Omicron Chapter

Alpha Theta Omicron is the Rio Salado College chapter of PTK. Chapter members meet regularly while actively promoting scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship. Active involvement in the chapter is encouraged, but not required. The chapter has an award-winning tradition.

Membership Eligibility

To be eligible for PTK membership, you must have:

  • A cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher
  • Completed a minimum of 12 college credits in 100-plus level classes and current enrollment in at least one class with Rio Salado College
  • Pay a one-time membership fee of $95 that helps with operating costs of Alpha Theta Omicron (Rio Salado's PTK chapter), the PTK Arizona region and Phi Theta Kappa International
