Concurrent Enrollment: Step 2: Meet Admissions Requirements

Under 18 years old? Students under the age of 18 must meet ONE of the following requirements before  enrolling in classes:

  • Complete a college placement test (maricopa.edready.org)
  • Earned a composite score of 720 or more on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT)
  • Earned composite score of 720 or more on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
  • Earned a composite score of 12 or more on the American College Test (ACT)
  • Have a passing score on the AZMERIT exam
  • A graduate of a private or public high school or have a high school certificate of equivalency
  • Have a high school GPA of 2.6 or higher after completion of two years (must be within the last 10 years)
  • Earned a GED score of 165 or higher (individual subject area test score as it relates to the class they want)

Providing Test Scores

Placement Testing

Math and ENG101 courses require a college placement test. Other courses may require a reading placement test. Your Maricopa Student ID Number and a valid photo ID are required for testing. Testing is offered at several Rio Salado Testing Center locations throughout Maricopa County. They may also be offered at your high school. Check with your high school for the testing schedule.
