In a new video, President Kate Smith highlights Rio Salado College’s efforts to support nontraditional students through flexibility, listening, and expanding access.

Creating environments where neurodiverse people (like people on the autistic spectrum, or have learning disabilities like dyslexia or dysgraphia) can feel comfortable and thrive is an important part of being inclusive. At a recent virtual event, South Mountain Community College’s Dr. Beverli Marshall shared a presentation for Rio students and staff on how to create more inclusive environments for neurodiverse people.
